LUSITANO RETREAT

A proposed small documentary series

A place to grow.
A story worth making.

A small UK rural project told through real decisions, repair, growing and original music.

In development · 21 chapter outlines · No UK episodes filmed or released

Illustrated concept of a future UK place with a home, garden, workshop and shared spaces.
AI concept illustration. The setting is imagined.

The Lusitano Diaries / Series proposal

Twenty-one chapters.
Room for the real story.

The original 21-day build sprint becomes a small documentary show: a question, a choice, an attempt and something useful learned. The work sets the pace. A pause, a failed idea or a decision to ask for help can be a worthwhile chapter.

Act 1 · Chapters 1–7

Read the place

Observe, organise and choose a responsible first phase.

Act 2 · Chapters 8–14

Make something useful

Small repairs, a workable space and a manageable growing experiment.

Act 3 · Chapters 15–21

Learn to live with the place

Quiet shared space, honest resource records and creative storytelling.

Season zero is preparation and concept development. A future site-based season depends on authorised access, suitability, relevant permissions, a crew and a production plan. There is no announced filming or release schedule.

The atmosphere / Earlier visual study

A glimpse of the ambition.

Existing silent AI concept film. This is a visual study, rather than footage of our own farm or a completed episode.

The rhythm of an episode

A useful question. An honest ending.

01

The question

A real observation, a clear mission and what remains unknown.

02

The choice

Options, constraints and why this modest task is suitable now.

03

The attempt

Actual work or research, one difficulty and the decision it changes.

04

The evidence

Matched before/after, actual time and cost, and honest completion or pause status.

05

The next question

One useful lesson, an original music moment where appropriate and the next dependency.

The season notebook

21 stories on the drawing board.

Each chapter opens its own brief: the mission, evidence to capture, three shots, a soundtrack idea and a useful takeaway. All are planned concepts.

The recurring moments

A little character in every chapter.

Same frame, new story

Return to a matched camera position for before and after. Show what changed, including the parts that did not work.

The honest ledger

Record actual time, spending and borrowed materials. Estimates and receipts remain distinct; unfinished work stays unfinished.

Second-life stories

Follow one suitable reclaimed object from its earlier purpose to a useful repair. Sometimes the right answer is to leave an object out.

The soundtrack corner

An original song, natural sound or a short acoustic moment can connect the craft to the wider story. Earlier Portugal tracks keep their context.

The quiet challenge

A voluntary, modest learning prompt: observe a shadow, sketch a layout or tell the story of a repaired object. No speed contest or public league table.

The next question

End with the real dependency: a document, a measurement, advice or a decision. Let curiosity carry the story forward.

Try a notebook prompt

A small thing to notice today.

Sketch the four functions of a useful base: home, storage, workshop and a manageable garden.

An optional thinking exercise. No task assignment, site access or project progress is recorded.

Make your own useful notes.

The field desk gives you rough space calculators, a personal checklist and a printable mission brief. The ideas library and music archive hold the creative starting points.
