LUSITANO RETREAT — Cornhole United States; beanbag target game. Players: 2 singles players or 4 in doubles CHOSEN VERSION: ACA cancellation scoring; a shorter-distance session is a declared retreat adaptation. EQUIPMENT 1. Two boards; four bags per side SETUP 1. For adult ACA play place board front edges 27 ft apart. 2. Singles stand together; doubles partners at opposite ends. Agree any beginner-distance adaptation first. HOW TO PLAY 1. Alternate four bags each. Stay behind the front-edge foul line. 2. Score after eight bags settle, using final positions. 3. A bag that hits the ground first is dead and removed. A foot foul is a dead throw. 4. Scoring side starts next round; a tie retains the previous starter. Play towards the other board. SCORING 1. Through the hole = 3; supported on board = 1; ground/dead = 0. 2. Subtract the lower round total from the higher. Only that difference scores; equal totals score zero. 3. Example: A 7 minus B 3 gives A 4. WINNING: Reach at least 21 after a full round; no bust. AT THE RETREAT Keep everyone out of the space between boards during throws. Reclaimed boards need smooth surfaces and stable supports; use purpose-made bags.
