LUSITANO RETREAT — P35 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Example bench-supported appearance sample 600 × 400 mm only. 2. Final wall extent, support centres, movement gaps, trims and fixing schedule are determined for the actual room. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. Sample: known suitable 600 × 400 mm backing plus accepted short facing boards sized to actual cover width. 2. Final boards cut only after the room-specific reviewed layout and fire/attachment assessment. 3. Specified backing, new connections and edge trims; no assumed universal batten spacing or fixing pattern. TOOLS 1. Tape, pencil and square; clamps and a flat bench. 2. Suitable saw, drill/driver and pilot bits matched to the chosen fasteners. 3. Sander with effective extraction; metal detector before machining accepted boards. ASSEMBLY 1. Identify the exact wall and room use, including moisture, heating, guest access and any escape-route implications. Map sockets, vents, detectors, service access and existing damage; investigate damp or mould before considering a decorative cover rather than hiding the defect. 2. Have the substrate, attachment approach and applicable fire performance assessed for the proposed room. Agree whether the actual finish, backing and reclaimed timber can be used there; a small attractive sample does not establish an acceptable wall assembly. 3. Make a bench-supported 600 × 400 mm example sample on known suitable backing to compare appearance. Measure actual board widths and prepare the written sample layout; keep this separate from the final wall dimensions and do not mount it overhead for testing. 4. Prepare accepted known-history boards with metal removal checks and dust control, leaving approved movement gaps in the sample. Trial the specified finish on an offcut and record it; do not sand unknown coatings or assume a clear coating supplies a fire rating. 5. After the room-specific design is agreed, survey the wall against its drawing and number the final boards by position. Mark specified support lines and service openings on the layout, keeping every board joint and edge detail aligned with the assessed attachment method. 6. Install the specified backing or supports through the responsible competent person and inspect before covering them. Attach prepared boards using the chosen fixing schedule and exposure details; avoid drilling until hidden services have been located by the appropriate method. 7. Fit designed edge trims and removable access pieces, keeping sockets, vents and detectors fully functional and accessible. Have electrical accessories handled by the appropriate competent person; decorative board thickness must not leave fittings distorted or trapped behind a finish. 8. Inspect the completed surface for loose boards, splinters and inaccessible services, then record the finished assembly and its maintenance instructions. Keep the original room assessment with the project record; remove affected pieces for investigation if damp, movement or loose connections appear. FINISH AND CARE 1. Only the room-assessed finish and assembly; no assumed fire-rating benefit. 2. Clean timber, eased edges and removable access preserved. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. Room/substrate/fire assessment and concealed-stage checks recorded. 2. No covered damp, service openings or inaccessible fittings.
