LUSITANO RETREAT — P32 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Example decorative drawer face 450 × 140 mm only where the existing unit allows it. 2. Measure drawer travel, clearances, handle position and the combined thickness before selecting fixings. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. Example three facing slats each 450 mm long; widths trimmed to match the actual front and agreed seams. 2. Existing suitable storage unit and drawer front remain intact. 3. New short suitable attachment screws and removable washable liner. TOOLS 1. Tape, pencil and square; clamps and a flat bench. 2. Suitable saw, drill/driver and pilot bits matched to the chosen fasteners. 3. Sander with effective extraction; metal detector before machining accepted boards. ASSEMBLY 1. Inspect the existing storage unit for stability, drawer operation and suitability for clean folded linen. Resolve damaged runners, loose structure or any required restraint first; a decorative pallet face cannot repair the unit or provide a new safe storage structure. 2. Measure the existing drawer front and the clearances above, below and beside it through its whole travel. Use 450 × 140 mm only as an illustrative face; verify that added thickness will not hit another drawer, door, frame or handle. 3. Lay accepted dry slats over a paper template and choose a smooth low-profile arrangement. Mark handle holes and avoid seams at their fixing points; number each slat and retain an uncovered margin wherever the original unit needs operating clearance. 4. Cut the boards to the measured schedule, scan before machining and prepare all faces with dust control. Round exposed edges and check the back against the existing drawer front; remove twists that prevent a stable fit rather than forcing boards flat with screws. 5. Remove the drawer according to the unit instructions and confirm the permitted attachment approach. Select short suitable screws for actual front-plus-facing thickness and mark holes clear of runners and contents; pilot drill on a supported bench without breaking through visible surfaces. 6. Attach the decorative slats in the dry-fit order, checking the front remains flat after each piece. Refit any handle through the appropriate existing arrangement; do not reduce handle engagement or leave sharp screw points exposed inside the linen space. 7. Apply the intended indoor finish and let it cure completely before installing the washable liner. Vacuum the drawer and surrounding area; place a clean removable liner between folded linen and wood so routine laundering does not require dismantling the facing. 8. Refit the drawer, run it through full travel and check neighbouring doors and drawers again. Add linen gradually within the existing unit instructions, confirm nothing snags and record the modification; recheck fasteners and liner condition during normal cleaning. FINISH AND CARE 1. Smooth indoor finish fully cured before clean linen is placed inside. 2. Liner is removable and washable; avoid rough unfinished wood against fabric. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. Full travel without contact; handle remains secure. 2. Unit stability unchanged, no protruding screws or snagging linen.
