LUSITANO RETREAT — P26 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Example identity board 420 × 90 × t mm; t is measured board thickness. 2. Four example label zones of 90 mm, with remaining width for margins; rack spacing governs final layout. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. One sound slat cut to 420 × 90 mm, or shorten to actual available rack space. 2. Four replaceable identity cards; existing rack remains the reel support. 3. New sign fasteners selected for the actual rack; no drilling into electrical equipment. TOOLS 1. Tape, pencil and square; clamps and a flat bench. 2. Suitable saw, drill/driver and pilot bits matched to the chosen fasteners. 3. Sander with effective extraction; metal detector before machining accepted boards. ASSEMBLY 1. List each reel by its existing equipment identity and note the separate inspection record location. Do not invent an inspection pass, replace electrical labels or infer condition from appearance; this project only identifies storage positions on a suitable rack. 2. Measure a clear sign position on the storage rack while all reels are disconnected and removed from the work area. Check that a 420 × 90 mm example board does not mask rack ratings, inspection points or equipment instructions. 3. Select one flat accepted slat, scan for metal and mark the required rectangle. Remove cracked end sections before cutting; retain enough sound edge for the chosen sign attachment and confirm actual thickness before selecting a screw length. 4. Cut the board square and ease all corners so a hand or cable cannot catch. Sand known clean timber with extraction, then vacuum it; test a paper label against the dry surface before choosing paint, adhesive or a clip system. 5. Mark four equal label zones to match the actual reel positions rather than the order used in this illustration. Write the location code prominently and the equipment identity beneath; leave room for future replacement without repainting the whole slat. 6. Apply a suitable indoor finish and allow it to cure before adding labels. Use contrasting text and compare the codes from the normal approach distance; include a reference to the separate inspection record instead of a permanent green safety tick. 7. Attach the board as signage to the rack using its permitted accessory points or an assessed sign mounting. Keep fasteners clear of moving parts and cable paths; never drill reel cases, windings, plugs or cables to mount the sign. 8. Return each disconnected reel to its purpose-suitable rack position and check every identity against the board. Maintain storage, inspection and electrical use according to the equipment instructions; replace a location label when equipment changes rather than swapping identities silently. FINISH AND CARE 1. Use a dry readable face and replaceable labels. 2. No coatings or fixings added to reels or electrical components. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. Every code matches the actual reel identity. 2. Sign supports no reel weight and hides no rack or equipment information. Guide: https://lusitanoretreat.com/build-guides/building-with-pallets/#project-p26
