LUSITANO RETREAT — P24 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Illustrative tabletop backing: 500 × 350 mm, adjusted to a stable existing display stand. 2. Measure sample thickness before choosing screw length; keep samples small and light. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. One known clean backing panel and accepted light timber samples. 2. Short screws, paper labels and an existing stable tabletop stand. TOOLS 1. Tape measure, pencil and square; clamps and a stable cutting support 2. Metal detector, suitable saw and drill with timber bits; dust extraction and PPE appropriate to the operation 3. Sanding block, straightedge and the selected connection manufacturer’s installation tools ASSEMBLY 1. Choose a small set of accepted timber samples with documented batch identities. Decide which story each sample demonstrates, such as weathering, usable grain or a proposed finish, without presenting appearance as acceptance evidence. 2. Measure the existing stable display stand and cut a backing panel that it can support properly. Mark the sample arrangement on paper first, leaving enough label space beside each item. 3. Cut the samples to manageable sizes on a supported bench and ease every contact edge. Write the batch reference on the reverse before sanding or finishing makes similar pieces difficult to distinguish. 4. Dry-fit samples on the backing and check the complete display’s balance on its stand. Keep heavier pieces low and do not make a tall freestanding structure from an unsupported panel. 5. Mark each attachment through sound sample material and choose short screws for the actual combined thickness. Pre-drill and attach so neither points behind the backing nor raised heads on the face create snags. 6. Prepare labels stating documented source, current status and proposed use. Distinguish accepted timber from a candidate awaiting checks; do not mark an unknown batch accepted just to complete the visual story. 7. Place the completed board beside the episode plan on a stable tabletop away from machinery. Photograph it with readable labels and record which samples appeared in the mission footage or design discussion. 8. Update a sample’s label when its status or intended use changes and retain the previous record in the material log. Check attachment security whenever the display moves; transport it flat with loose items removed. FINISH AND CARE 1. Sand hand-contact surfaces and ease exposed edges; retain readable batch identification on a concealed face. 2. Use a finish selected for the actual exposure, following its preparation, coat and cure instructions; treat cut ends as specified. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. Every sample has a traceable batch and truthful status label. 2. Existing stand stable; attachments contained and no load-bearing claim.
