LUSITANO RETREAT — P20 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Measure the assessed deck edge and ground clearance, including drainage and inspection zones. 2. Example small removable fascia module: 600 × 250 mm only where the measured opening suits it. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. Accepted boards cut to fascia schedule, never used as deck joists or walking boards. 2. Specified backing cleats or compatible deck-edge attachment brackets. 3. Removable panel fittings and selected exterior fasteners. TOOLS 1. Tape measure, pencil and square; clamps and a stable cutting support 2. Metal detector, suitable saw and drill with timber bits; dust extraction and PPE appropriate to the operation 3. Sanding block, straightedge and the selected connection manufacturer’s installation tools ASSEMBLY 1. Have the deck and steps assessed for their intended use before adding fascia. Map the supporting members, ground clearance, drainage routes and the connections that must remain available for inspection. 2. Divide the edge into ordinary fascia sections and clearly identified access modules. Measure each bay individually, allowing the ventilation and removal gaps shown in the deck’s reviewed detail. 3. Prepare accepted boards for the decorative faces and label each bay on the reverse. Cut around the actual ground profile without taking the timber into soil or obstructing the designed drainage path. 4. Assemble each access module on rear cleats using screws selected for the real board and cleat thickness. Keep the panel light enough for the intended handling method and provide a usable grip detail. 5. Mark attachment positions on the specified deck-edge members and fit compatible brackets or removable panel fittings. Do not notch, drill or weaken a structural member beyond the deck designer’s connection detail. 6. Install the fixed decorative sections first, then dry-fit the access modules. Check that a module can be withdrawn in its planned direction without contacting services, supports or adjacent fascia boards. 7. Fit each removable module and open it again immediately to demonstrate access. Photograph the underlying deck connections and drainage zones before closing, and label the inspection panel on the maintenance drawing. 8. Walk the deck and approach routes, checking that fascia edges create no new projecting trip or snag. Record its non-load-bearing role and include removal, rot and joint checks in the deck’s maintenance schedule. FINISH AND CARE 1. Sand hand-contact surfaces and ease exposed edges; retain readable batch identification on a concealed face. 2. Use a finish selected for the actual exposure, following its preparation, coat and cure instructions; treat cut ends as specified. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. Inspection panels genuinely open and drainage remains clear. 2. Fascia is not a step, guard, deck surface or structural reinforcement.
