LUSITANO RETREAT — P18 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Measure the actual daybed frame and cushion movement, including any folding or recliner mechanism. 2. Facing modules are cut to measured frame bays; preserve the supplier’s drainage and clearance requirements. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. Accepted decorative boards for low surrounding panels. 2. Rear cleats and removable connections selected for compatible frame attachment points. 3. Purpose-suitable daybed, mattress or cushions retained independently of the facing. TOOLS 1. Tape measure, pencil and square; clamps and a stable cutting support 2. Metal detector, suitable saw and drill with timber bits; dust extraction and PPE appropriate to the operation 3. Sanding block, straightedge and the selected connection manufacturer’s installation tools ASSEMBLY 1. Choose the purpose-suitable daybed frame and read its installation instructions. Identify the members and attachment points available for decoration, while keeping its occupant-supporting platform and mechanisms unchanged. 2. Measure the perimeter with cushions both fitted and removed. Mark lifting handles, drains, cleaning access and moving parts; sketch individual low facing modules that remain outside these operating zones. 3. Select sound accepted boards and arrange each module on the bench. Cut the ends to the measured bays, easing the top edges and corners where legs, clothing or hands could touch. 4. Join the decorative boards to rear cleats using screws selected for their actual combined thickness. Keep heads and tips contained, and dry-fit the module without using it to brace a weak daybed frame. 5. Use compatible removable tabs, clamps or manufacturer-approved attachment points to connect the facing. Avoid drilling the frame unless its supplier or designer has specified that modification and its connection detail. 6. Test cushion removal and the complete movement of any recliner or folding mechanism before fitting the next panel. Adjust the decorative edge where it creates a catch point or reduces cleaning access. 7. Fit the remaining surround modules with the reviewed gaps and attachment method. Keep the ground below open enough for the specified drainage and avoid enclosing damp cushions or wet debris behind a sealed skirt. 8. Complete the daybed inspection required for its intended guest use, recording that the surround supports nobody. Photograph the removable panels and include their removal in routine cushion cleaning and timber inspection. FINISH AND CARE 1. Sand hand-contact surfaces and ease exposed edges; retain readable batch identification on a concealed face. 2. Use a finish selected for the actual exposure, following its preparation, coat and cure instructions; treat cut ends as specified. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. No person-bearing load passes through the reclaimed surround. 2. No new trapping point, obstructed movement or inaccessible damp cavity.
