LUSITANO RETREAT — P15 BUILD NOTES Use only with the main pallet guide and material intake checks. Illustrative dimensions are not a structural rating. MEASUREMENTS 1. Record the actual sauna envelope, roof edges, doors, vents and heater/flue locations. 2. Exterior sample: 600 × 600 mm if useful; cavity and fixing dimensions come from the sauna envelope design. CUT LIST / COMPONENTS 1. Accepted boards for the cold exterior only, scheduled by elevation. 2. Specified battens, exterior connections, trims and flashings. 3. Separate known-suitable hot-room and heater components supplied to their own specification. TOOLS 1. Tape measure, pencil and square; clamps and a stable cutting support 2. Metal detector, suitable saw and drill with timber bits; dust extraction and PPE appropriate to the operation 3. Sanding block, straightedge and the selected connection manufacturer’s installation tools ASSEMBLY 1. Select the sauna and heater system first, then obtain its envelope and installation information. Draw the cold exterior cladding boundary clearly so reclaimed boards cannot be mistaken for hot-room lining or heater protection. 2. Measure each exterior elevation and locate every intake, exhaust, door and flue interface. Transfer the designer’s required clearance and drainage zones to the board schedule without estimating them from a photograph. 3. Prepare an accepted timber batch, recording usable lengths after defective areas are cut out. Keep the cladding dry and separated from hot-room materials so the two supplies cannot be mixed during installation. 4. Assemble a small exterior-only corner sample with the specified batten, trim and board attachment. Compare its real thickness with the reviewed door-jamb and flashing details before repeating the arrangement on the sauna. 5. Check the completed underlying envelope and photograph the weather layer, cavity route and opening interfaces. Resolve missing or damaged details before cladding; decorative boards cannot repair a failed water-control layer. 6. Mark the specified fixing lines and attach the first sound board using the selected exterior screw or cladding connection. Follow its drilling, edge-distance and movement requirements for the actual timber and support. 7. Fit subsequent boards with the intended spacing and keep the cavity’s designed inlet and outlet paths open. Cut around vents and service covers to the reviewed details instead of sealing them behind an uninterrupted timber face. 8. Inspect the finished rainscreen with the sauna designer’s checklist, checking accessible attachments, drainage and maintenance access. Keep heater commissioning separate and do not operate the sauna merely because its exterior appearance is complete. FINISH AND CARE 1. Sand hand-contact surfaces and ease exposed edges; retain readable batch identification on a concealed face. 2. Use a finish selected for the actual exposure, following its preparation, coat and cure instructions; treat cut ends as specified. COMPLETION CHECKS 1. No reclaimed pallet boards enter the hot room, benches or heater/flue zone under this project specification. 2. Exterior drainage and ventilation paths remain visible in the completion photographs.
